Paeonia 'Singing in the Rain' is a magnificent Itoh peony that combines the sturdy growth of herbaceous peonies with the elegant blooms of tree peonies. Reaching about 36" tall and 3–4' wide, it makes a striking landscape statement with deeply divided, dark green foliage accented by bronzy-red tones in spring and fall. Large, fragrant semi-double blooms open copper-colored and transition through creamy yellow to peachy coral as they mature, creating an ever-changing display. Vigorous, disease resistant, and deer resistant, it also attracts pollinators and produces long-lasting blooms that are excellent for cutting and floral arrangements.
Plant 'Singing in the Rain' in full sun to partial shade and fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. This adaptable peony requires minimal care—simply remove spent blooms and cut back the foliage in autumn as it dies back.
