Thrives in moist, well-drained soil with average fertility and grows best in full sun to part shade. It benefits from at least 5 hours of direct sunlight daily. Prefers consistently moist soil. Pruning isn’t necessary, but shaping can be done after flowering to create an umbrella-like topiary by trimming branches a few feet above the ground.
