Clusters of pink flowers emerge in late spring, a stunning contrast to the creamy white-edged foliage. In spring and fall the white edged foliage blushes with pink. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and works well as a cut flower.
This variegated smooth phlox thrives in full sun to light shade, needing at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight daily for best blooming. Plant in moist, well-drained, organically rich soil; it tolerates more moisture than many other phlox varieties but avoid soggy conditions. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring and again in mid-summer to support flowering. Deadhead spent blooms to extend the bloom time and prevent self-seeding. Prune back by one-third in late summer to encourage new growth and reduce the risk of disease.
