A striking, narrow crabapple with an upright oval habit and deep purple foliage that provides dramatic contrast in the landscape. Fragrant pink flowers emerge from dark red buds in mid-spring, followed by abundant crimson-red fruit that persists into late fall. Excellent as an accent tree for smaller landscapes, with attractive burgundy fall color and good disease resistance.
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing and during extended dry periods. Prune in late winter to maintain its narrow form and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches.
