This award winner is a large, dense pyramidal tree with incredible foliage and form. When young, the leaves are a pale green which matures into a dark green. In the fall foliage will turn to russet-gold colors and bristly fruits will ripen. Fruit is edible! Makes a great shade tree in the landscape or can be used as a hedge screen. A low maintenance option that is not subject to any serious disease or insect issues. Deer resistant!
Grows best in rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Tolerates drought once established, but is intolerant of wet, poorly drained soils.
