Two-toned lavender and pink flowers are held on arching stems above attractive dark green foliage in early spring. The spiny foliage is quite attractive and takes on a bronze coloration in spring as well. An excellent choice for the shaded landscape such as woodland gardens or under mature trees. Deer and rabbit resistance.
Best growth occurs in partial to full shade in moist, highly organic soils. Excellent as a groundcover under mature trees. Cut back dead foliage in spring to expose new growth.
