Epazote flavor is difficult to describe, many love it or hate it. Traditionally used to flavor black beans this pungent herb is mainly used in Mexican or Latin American dishes its flavor has been described as strong tarragon or even fennel-like.

Epazote is a useful companion plant as it repels insects in the garden. Caution: Consuming the seed oil is highly toxic. Women who are lactating, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant should not consume this herb. Can be toxic to animals as well.
