This twining vine is super hardy but produces a fruit most associate with the tropics - Kiwis! Since the Hardy Kiwi plant is dioecious, meaning there are separate male and female plants, all you need for fruit is to plant 'Red Beauty' near 'Actic Beauty' (a male selection) and you will have a cool crop of minature kiwi's for fruit salads, or they are delicious right off the vine. The skin in thin and the entire fruit can be eaten similar to a grape. The green foliage turns a nice red in the fall adding to its ornamental value as well.
To keep your Hardy Kiwi manageable and to maximize fruit produciton, prune 'Red Beauty' when it is dormant.
